PokerStars Bonus Clearing
In the world of online poker, there are many sites made for bringing people together from around the globe and placing them around the gambling table. However, it’s difficult to find one quite so giving as Poker Stars.com, which is now awarding up to $600 as a signing bonus when you join up with them. That’s right – they pay you to play cards! It’s just a matter of typing in the bonus code ‘STARS600′ when you deposit real money for the first time, and they will match your deposit up to the maximum $600 PokerStars bonus.
Is this too good to be true, you may be wondering? It’s an understandable suspicion. After all, nobody these days just gives things for free – there’s always a catch, always a reason they try so hard to get your money.
This is exactly what PokerStars’ intention is. They are depending on your love of the game to keep you going. See, they don’t give you $600 in an instant, lump sum payment. Every time you play at PokerStars.com, you receive VIP points called FPPs, or Frequent Player Points. For every 170 FPPs you get, $10 of your bonus will be given to you. You can pocket this into your bankroll or use it to keep playing at PokerStars, no strings attached.
It’s not exactly as straightforward as this, either. You are required to deposit $600 into your real-money account at PokerStars.com before you’re eligible for the $600 bonus. If you only put $300 into your account, you will only receive $300 in bonus money. However, if you then deposit another $500, your bonus eligibility will be at $600, which is the maximum per account you’re allowed to receive.
The last thing to discuss is the presence of a timeframe. You have a span of 90 days after your first cash deposit to deposit $600 total. You have just six months after your first deposit to collect the FPPs you need to get your money’s worth. That’s a whopping 17 * 600 = 10200 FPPs in only six months in order to receive your bonus of $600.
PokerStars has a guide for how FPPs are earned but it’s not easy to read, but for the inexperienced, all you have to know is this:
* For tournaments, you earn 5.5 FPPs per dollar of entry fee or 8 FPPs per euro of entry fee.
* For cash games of at least 8 seats, your table earns 6 FPPs for every dollar or 8.5 FPPs for every euro of “rake” paid per hand (the amount of money Poker Stars takes from the pot as payment), distributed evenly among the players dealt into the hand. As an example, if nine people are playing and the rake paid is $3.00, the table accumulates 18 FPPs; split among nine people means each player earns 2 FPPs.
* For cash games of 7 or less seats, you receive 5.5 FPPs for every dollar or 8 FPPs per euro of rake taken, distributed among the people playing.
* For those especially enthusiastic, you can get FPPs at double (after collecting 3000 FPPs in a month), triple (100,000 in a year), or up to quintuple (1,000,000 in a year) these rates.
You might decide that it’s not as good as PokerStars.com claims it to be. If you receive 2 FPPs for every hand, you still have to play 5100 hands if you want to receive the full $600, and you have to risk losing more money than that in the mean-time. However, if you enjoy online poker, it’s a nice way to get rewarded for doing something you love.
