The most recent key PokerStars departure has been that of Gabi Campos, the CEO. He has been the CEO of the site for only 16 months, and he will be leaving his job on February 1, 2012. He joined the team back in October 2010, making use of the 3 years of experience he had gained with 888Poker.

The official statement announcing the news was given by the PokerStars download in the middle of January. Officials said that Campos is looking to pursue other opportunities and that his hard work and commitment have been appreciated by the company. They also stated that they were currently searching for a replacement CEO.

People were shocked by all the PokerStars departures in the last year, and the resignation by Campos is no exception. Will the CEO spot be filled by someone already in the PokerStars system, or will the board search for someone elsewhere that has experience with another site? Online poker enthusiasts probably won’t have to wait too long to find out.

I think it might have been easier to try to break a record involving Bingo codes!

On Sunday January 8th, he started out playing roughly forty tables of $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold‘em at one time and kept that up for the majority of the eight hour stint. During the grind he took absolutely no breaks, ate nothing and had zero trips to the bathroom. At one point he was down $1,200 and needed to add $5/$10 to help get him back in the black.

As Lew fought through to the final hour of his record setting attempt, he found himself up under $100. That put him in quite the precarious position as he could easily ended up down money at the end of the session. One hand could put him in an awful spot with little time left.

However, Lew managed to eke out an extremely tiny profit in the end while playing just one table, finishing up $7.65. In the eight hour session he played 23,493 hands while playing an amazing 2,936 hands per hour. He earned 22,784 frequent player points while playing nearly 49 hands per minute. Lew was able to make it through the mammoth session to add yet another notch to his belt.

Descargar PokerStars es muy sencillo y podras entrar a torneos exclusivos.

If you love big tournaments, be sure to be free for the Party Poker Winter Million in February. This $640 event is one of four tournaments hosted every year that carries a $1 million guarantee. It comes as no surprise that Party Poker works very hard to promote it to get as many people as possible to play.

Not everyone can afford to pay $640 for one poker tournament, so there will be plenty of satellites available. If your bankroll is really small, you can try to satellite in for as little as one dollar! Since it is such a big event, Party Poker has equipped the Winter Million with a very deep stacked structure. Some people like this as it makes the game less about “luck” and there is more poker to play.

Even if you are normally an online slot machines player, you should try to get on Party Poker this month or next. Rake-free MTTs are truly too amazing to pass up, and you’ll want a shot at a 6-figure pay day in February!

It is safe to say that PokerStars celebrated their tenth birthday in style. By giving out poker bonuses and hosting huge tournaments, records were shattered and millions of dollars were won. This entry will talk about the huge MTTs that took place this past month.

The first huge anniversary tournament was on December 4th, and it was the World Record Tournament. The guaranteed prize pool was $250,000, and the buy-in was only $1! PokerStars also capped the event at 200,000 people, which meant that they were adding at least $50,000 to the prize pool.

Despite the large number of players, the tournament only took 7 hours to complete. The final three remaining chopped the prize pool, with Russia’s Sokoluk1991 taking home the most at $40,258. Not bad for a $1 investment!

You may know that the Sunday Storm, an $11 Sunday tournament, usually has a guarantee of $200,000. For its anniversary, PokerStars decided to change the guarantee to $1 million on December 11th! They also put bounties on their pros: $100 for every Team PokerStars bust. If you wanted a way to earn extra PokerStars rakeback, this was it!

Remarkably, the tournament surpassed its guarantee since 116,400… READ MORE

You may know that the Sunday Storm, an $11 Sunday tournament, usually has a guarantee of $200,000. For its anniversary, PokerStars decided to change the guarantee to $1 million on December 11th! They also put bounties on their pros: $100 for every Team PokerStars bust. If you wanted a way to earn extra PokerStars rakeback, this was it!

Remarkably, the tournament surpassed its guarantee since 116,400 people played. This time a final table deal took place a little earlier with six players remaining. The smallest payout was $55,127, and the largest payout was $87,437. These are some impressive numbers for a $11 freeze-out!

The best was saved for last, however. PokerStars ran a special edition of the Sunday Million and were surprised when they broke yet another record. This time they broke the record for the largest online poker prize pool ever, which they actually set themselves back in 2010. And back in March of this year, they ran a special edition of the Sunday Million that saw an impressive 59,128 players register.

The December version of the special Sunday Million, however, saw an incredible 62,116 players participate. This meant a prize pool of $12,423,000, which was a couple hundred thousand dollars more than their 2010 WCOOP Main Event prize pool. This meant that first place would have the chance to win $2 million.

Surprisingly there was no talk of chopping when the final table formed. The discussion began when it got 6-handed, however, for there was $5 million left in the prize pool and each of them could be guaranteed an amazing payday.

After the deal was done and the tournament was over, the winner of the event was First-Eagle. The player from Canada banked an impressive $1,146,574 in the end, which is more than the tournament usually guarantees in total! He probably shouldn’t be in a hurry to quit his day job, but one would think that he is going to dedicate more time on the best Mac poker sites after such a sick score.

He recently had a huge cash at the World Series of Poker Europe, busting in 2nd place for a cool €800k.

The chip leader at the final table started as Nicholas Levi, but his stack quickly sunk to the bottom after getting coolered with bottom two against the top set of David Boyaciyan.

Despite the unlucky hand, it would be a while before Levi busted. Mads Wissing busted in 8th place, Andreas Wiese was eliminated in 7th, and then Ari Engel in 6th. Boyaciyan already had a great stack, but he made it even bigger by busting Denys Drobyna in 5th place with AKs versus A7s.

Then it was Martin Finger’s turn to run good. First he got dealt KK against A8 4-handed against Guillem Usero and held, and then he sent Levi to the rail with AJ versus 86.

When heads-up play started, the two players had stacks that differed by almost 2.5 to 1 in Finger’s favor. This didn’t stop Boyaciyan for making it a battle, however, and the two played for multiple hours.

When the last hand finally played out, it was Boyacian all-in preflop with TT versus Finger’s AK. Finger was pleased to see a KK6 flop, leaving Boyacian with two outs and two streets. None of the remaining tens came, which meant that Finger was the proud owner of an EPT title and €720k!

If you are an avid poker player living outside the USA, you should try playing with a Party Poker download. They have some great tournaments, with some large guarantees on Sunday. Also keep in mind that they might enter the US market if online poker ever becomes legal there, which would mean some very juicy games!

It seems that Adelson’s main concern with online gambling stems from the fact that minors will have access to something they should not have access to. He doesn’t believe that technology can prevent underage gambling.

Advocates of online poker rooms can only hope that Adelson does not decide to lobby against the Internet game. Las Vegas Sands holds a lot of power in the industry and it could be bad news if they do. Not only do they own property in Las Vegas (including the Venetian Resort and Casino), they also have properties all around the world including in Macau and Singapore.

Day 3, the final day, saw only 11 people make it. And then it took just 30 minutes for a 9-man final table to be formed!

Casey McCarrel was in a good spot when the final table started, but he was destined to be the first elimination. First he doubled Chris Clark up a few hands into the final table. A mere ten hands later, he got it in with an overcard and flush draw against Ron Segni’s top pair and busted.

Daniel Lowery decided to take Segni’s newfound chips in a pot where he hit a boat and Segni hit top two. Lowery then hit another boat versus Joe Fernandez, which sent Fernandez to the rail in 7th place. These pots gave Lowery an impressive stack that consisted of half the remaining chips in play.

Segni was still alive once it got 3-handed, but Bryan Schultz ended up busting him in third place. Segni took home over $50k, which is a lot of money for video poker online.

Schultz’s elimination of Segni helped to lessen the chip lead Lowery once had. As such, the two players decided to speed up the tournament once it became heads-up. Not wanting to play for hours, they decided to remove three blind levels.

It didn’t take long for the match to end. Schultz got it all-in preflop with J9dd, and Lowery made the call with AJ. Lowery was dominating preflop, but Schultz hit a flush post flop which left Lowery crippled. He couldn’t come back, which meant that Schultz was the 2011 Lake Tahoe WSOPC champion!

If you are also a fan of casino games, perhaps you should look at some online casino reviews. This will ensure that you are playing on the best sites possible while taking a break from your poker sessions.

A little over a week ago, I wrote about the final table of the WSOP Main Event. I didn’t finish it because it was getting way too long, so today I will talk about the remaining three players in what is the biggest event of casinos for USA players. When everything got started on Day 2 of the final table, Martin Staszko was the short stack with 35bb. Ben Lamb was just a bit ahead with 45bb, and Pius Heinz enjoyed the chip lead with a healthy 90bb.

Things got started very quickly. Lamb and Staszko got involved in a huge pot preflop which resulted in a flip: Lamb had KJ and Staszko held 77. Lamb’s good luck in the WSOP was apparently finished because he could not win this hand, and then he was soon finished off by Staszko’s JJ a few hands later. Although Lamb busted in 3rd place, he still wowed the world by becoming the WSOP Player of the Year for 2011.

Poker fans around the world were about to be treated with one of the most epic heads-up battles of all time. In total there would be 120 hands over a grueling 6 hours.… READ MORE

Although Lamb busted in 3rd place, he still wowed the world by becoming the WSOP Player of the Year for 2011.

Poker fans around the world were about to be treated with one of the most epic heads-up battles of all time. In total there would be 120 hands over a grueling 6 hours. Staszko started heads-up play with a slight chip lead, but this was quickly won back by Heinz a mere 5 hands in.

The chip lead exchange that would follow soon afterward is unlike anything I have ever seen on the Bodog Poker download. Heinz maintained his chip lead for around 30 hands, and then Staszko took it back with a huge bluff. He kept the lead for around 30 hands himself before Heinz regained the chips. But Heinz only kept the chip lead for around 15 hands this time.

Staszko kept this chip lead for a very long time. Heinz faltered enough to let Staszko get him down to just 25bb, his lowest stack of the final table. He didn’t let this get him down, however; in fact, he was about to win the biggest hand of the tournament.

Heinz held the AQ of hearts and decided to get the last of his chip in the middle on a KT7 flop. He was ahead of Staszko’s Q9 of clubs, but barely. He managed to fade a zillion outs and won the hand that was destined to be the turning point of the match.

Staszko, now with the short stack, was forced to make a move. He jammed all-in with T7cc just 8 hands later, and Heinz called with AK. Heinz’s hand was able to hold, which meant that he was the new world champion of poker! This is the first time a German has won the WSOP Main Event.

The House of Representatives is no stranger to online poker, thanks to the constant efforts of Barney Frank. By contrast, the Senate have not touched the issue since the original UIGEA was passed in 2006.

That’s all changed this week, thanks to a full blown hearing having been held. It was entitled ‘Future of Internet Gaming: What’s at Stake for Tribes?’ and took place on November 17th. It concerned how the existing online gambling marketplace is affective Native American groups and what a regulated market might mean for them. It was designed to consider not only poker, but games like real money slots.

It’s almost traditional in the U.S. for Indians to run casinos and many are understandably concerned about the impact of online gambling on their lifestyles. The hearing was called to consider how the influx of offshore providers like the titan poker download and the recent DoJ action impacts on the livelihoods of the Tribes. The speakers and discussions are expected to continue today.

Invited to speak at the event was Poker Players Alliance Chairman, Alfonse D’Amato. The long time poker proponent is no stranger to the seat of power, having served as a Senator himself. He was called to act as an expert witness. PPA Executive Director, John Pappas, commented that, “even though the subject matter may be limited to how this impacts Indian tribes, the PPA being able to testify will insert the positive reasons for consumers into the discussion.”

This is the not the only hearing that D’Amato has been present at in the last few months. An earlier hearing, entitled ‘Internet Gaming: is there a Safe Bet?’, also featured FairPlayUSA Chairwoman, Parry Aftab and National Indian Gaming Association Chairman, Ernest Stevens. Proceedings took place in the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade, meaning that both house and Senate have tackled online gambling in the past few weeks.

“It’s encouraging that the House subcommittee is acting so quickly,” said John Pappas. “They could have punted to after Thanksgiving, but they chose to tackle it before the break.”

Online poker legislation appears to be picking up steam again and players around the world will be hoping for a regulated market to open up in the U.S. Meanwhile, online video poker fans will also be hoping that any legislation that passes does not exclude non-poker games.
