Ben Wilinofsky Wins EPT Berlin

The PokerStars European Poker Tour Season 7 is very nearly at an end. After a whirlwind excursion of the continent’s finest gambling cities, we are now less than a month away from the Grand Final in Madrid, Spain. There’s still a chance to qualify for these events if you download PokerStars now.

Back in the present, the fine people people of Germany have just plaid host to EPT Berlin. Kind folk that they are, they even let a Canadian online grinder win it all.

Ben Wilinofsky had made literally zero impact on the live tournament scene before this weekend, but was a well known star on top texas holdem sites under the handle NeverScaredB. The €820,000 first place prize money was the first ever live tournament cash. An auspicious start for the brash 22-year-old, who dominated the final table with both his mammoth chip stack and constant table chatter.

Scott “urindangr” Palmer Enters the PokerStars SuperStar Showdown

The insatiable and/or contractually obliged Viktor “Isildur1” Blom went in search of high stakes action again this past weekend. Stepping into the PokerStars Download SuperStar Showdown with him this week was fellow online superstar Scott “urnotindangr” Palmer.

After crushing old-hand Daniel Negreanu for the last two sessions, Blom was back to battling the usual cast of talented youngsters. Already a fixture on the best us poker sites high stakes circuit, Palmer is a meagre 20-years-old. That means that neither player in this contest is old enough to challenge for a WSOP bracelet.

Just like the previous SuperStar Challenge, this episode took place across 4 tables of $50/$100 No Limit Hold ‘em, ending once 2,500 hands had been played or one player was busto. This was only the first half of their challenge, however. The duo will reconvene on April 10th at 3 p.m EST to trade blows for a second time.
