British Columbia Poker Championships 2011

One of the biggest yearly tournament series in Canada in the past few years has been the British Columbia Poker Championships, commonly referred to as the BCPC. The BCPC has been around since 2005 and is hosted by the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond British Columbia.

The Main Event was won back in 2008 by Daniel Negreanu for $371,910. That was the year the PokerStars download ran satellites to the big tourney, and quite a few poker professionals showed up for it.

Since 2008 the series hasn’t grown in popularity, but it still gets a great field. This year PlayNow.com (the download free poker site for British Columbia) will probably run satellites to it.

Between October 25th and November 9th there will be four events. The first event of the series is a bounty event, costing $550 to enter and featuring a maximum field of 528. It has an estimated prize pool of $237,600. This is a four day event, with the final table scheduled for October 28th.
