3 Return for Day 2 of the 2011 WSOP November Nine
A little over a week ago, I wrote about the final table of the WSOP Main Event. I didn’t finish it because it was getting way too long, so today I will talk about the remaining three players in what is the biggest event of casinos for USA players. When everything got started on Day 2 of the final table, Martin Staszko was the short stack with 35bb. Ben Lamb was just a bit ahead with 45bb, and Pius Heinz enjoyed the chip lead with a healthy 90bb.
Things got started very quickly. Lamb and Staszko got involved in a huge pot preflop which resulted in a flip: Lamb had KJ and Staszko held 77. Lamb’s good luck in the WSOP was apparently finished because he could not win this hand, and then he was soon finished off by Staszko’s JJ a few hands later. Although Lamb busted in 3rd place, he still wowed the world by becoming the WSOP Player of the Year for 2011.
