Bodog Offers $12,000 WSOP Packages

Today I will write a Bodog Poker review, with the content targeting their WSOP satellites. The recent US indictments have increased Bodog’s popularity, and many people are wondering whether or not the Bodog WSOP package and satellites are any good.

The prize package with the WSOP Main Event is worth $12,000 at Bodog. You get $2,000 for expenses and then the rest of the package goes towards your $10k seat. You also get VIP access to the Bodog party and a poker swag bag. Note that the package does not include accommodations.

You have a few options when it comes to winning a Main Event package. The fastest way is to buy-in directly to a Main Event Satellite for $500. These satellites guarantee anywhere between 2 and 10 Main Event packages.

If $500 is too rich for your blood, the Bodog Poker download has ways for you to win your way into the $500 satellites. They are as low as $27.50 and go as high as $109. These “Semifinals” guarantee a minimum of one seat.

If you would rather risk even less, there are plenty of cheap satellites available. Winning one of these seats will cost a minimum… READ MORE

Absolute and UB Not Bust, Say Owners

The fallout from Black Friday continues, with Absolute Poker/UB hitting back against bankruptcy rumors. After a splurge of communication earlier in the week – some official, some not – correspondence appeared to indicate that Blanca Games, the online poker duo’s parent company, was folding.

That information appears to have been only partly true. What is correct, is that the company are radically downsizing. They plan to effectively lay off their entire staff and then rehire just 20%. This all forms part of their strategy to focus on providing for non-U.S. players. American players are currently flocking to the likes of the true poker download, who still remain U.S. friendly.

“As previously stated, Absolute Poker and UB ceased their U.S.-facing operations due to recent legal developments in the United States. The company is currently restructuring and is focusing its resources on consolidating its non-U.S., rest-of-the-world operation and software business. In order to have a more efficient and successful future business, an immediate need to downsize and streamline operations significantly at both online poker rooms has been required. Absolute Poker and UB continue to operate their non-U.S.-facing business.”

Branching away from the U.S. will be tough work, with many players already… READ MORE

Everest Poker Hosts WSOP Qualifiers

We’re going to continue our World Series of Poker theme today, with the center of attention on Everest Poker this time. A few of the online poker rooms out there have more than one WSOP package up for grabs, and Everest is no different as they have a Main Event package and then a smaller side event package.

The Main Event package has a total value of $13k. You are automatically entered into the $10k WSOP Main Event with this package, and then you have a bunch of money to pay for all the other expenses you will incur. Everest suggests using $2,000 for your travel and accommodation costs, and then feel free to spend the remaining $1,000 on anything you want.

The Side Event package on Everest has a value of $5k. Included in the package is an entry to the $1.5k No Limit Holdem Event 56. $2,614 of your package goes towards travel costs, hotel accommodations, and food/entertainment. This package also includes 2 opportunities to get into the Main Event. You will receive a Vegas 2011 Direct Entry Token valued at $336 and a $550 seat for a last minute Main Event satellite on the Strip.
