PokerStars – Is Pokerstars a Fixed Site – A Must Read

The question has been asked time and time again. Is Pokerstars a fixed site? There have been news stories, magazine articles and blogs dedicated to this very question. If you search hard enough, you will even find some videos on YouTube that seem quite convincing that the entire Pokerstars site is fixed. This invokes concern and paranoia in the heads of the hundreds of thousands of players playing on Pokerstars today, quite understandably. Here we will go over the reasons why this question has been asked so fervently and let you have the real answer once and for all.

Pokerstars has been a part of the online poker genre since 2001. After Pokerstars began, many other sites, seeing their success, decided to follow suit. Unfortunately, these other poker playing sites did not take the security measures necessary to protect their players. Many of them, most recently, Absolute Poker, landed themselves in the media limelight with claims that administrators were using their account administration abilities to view other players cards and ensuring them a win every time. Of course, this is one of the main reasons why Pokerstars now is constantly battling with the question of whether their site is fixed… READ MORE

Qualify for the PokerStars WPC

The PokerStars download offers several opportunities to participate in the next PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, but arguably the most original opportunity comes with the World Cup of Poker (WCP). A total of 56 national teams will compete to win their way to the live final table. The live final is hosted in the Bahamas early next year where nine teams will compete for a $100,000 first place prize.

Each team consists of the country’s best online poker player, three satellite winners, and a PokerStars pro for a total of five players. Each region’s best player according to the PokerStars TLB is automatically on the national team. If you have no hope to win the leaderboard, you can qualify via satellites. Those new to poker will appreciate that these satellites are very affordable. The FPP satellites cost 1 FPP, the cash satellites cost $1, and there are even freeroll satellites. You might want to take advantage of the PokerStars bonus code and enter the cash and FPP tournaments because every person that plays them gets to participate in a $100,000 freeroll on January 30, 2011 if their national team wins the final!

Once the teams are solidified, they are divided… READ MORE

Full Tilt – Poker Tilt – How to Notice you are on Tilt & What to Do About it

Tilts – The Bain of Everyman!

Being on a tilt, a negative tilt, can be extremely damaging to your emotions and thus damaging to your play. Unfortunately – or perhaps fortunately – all poker players go on negative tilts n their career. It’s more common that some of us would like to think, but what matters is not how and when it happens to you. What matters is that you develop the ability, sooner rather than later, to mitigate the damage of a tilt to your overall game.

Recognize the Tilt

How do you know when you’re on a tilt? There’s no hard and fast rule telling you what exactly constitutes a tilt. You could have one bad hand. You could have a string of bad hands…ah, that’s it. Generally, when you have two or more bad hands in a row, you can consider yourself on a negative tilt. Whether it’s bad play, or bad luck that gave you the results, two or more hands is a good indication of tilting and sign that it’s time to take a deep breath.

Emotional Control Is Paramount

Easier said than done; don’t let your emotions disrupt your… READ MORE

Canadian Wins $8.9 Million WSOP Main Event

If you require another reason to use a PokerStars marketing code, just consider the fact that this year’s Main Event winner was, once again, wearing PokerStars patches. Despite the fact that a large fraction of the 2010 final table was Full Tilt pros, the PokerStars pros beat the odds and won it in the end. Congrats to Jonathan Duhamel for winning the largest prize in poker by outlasting a huge field of talented players. When the final table formed, it consisted of pros that have had significant success on the top Texas Holdem sites.

Duhamel is the first Canadian to ever win the World Series of Poker Main Event. He is only 23 years old, and he left university in order to focus on playing poker once he discovered that he could make a great deal of money at it. He is mostly a cash game player, getting dealt at 18 tables of 6-max at a time. He said that he believes that being a cash player on download free poker sites aided him in his victory because he was highly experienced when it came to adapting to different preflop and postflop situations.
